198410/10 - 1 review

 1984Author: George Orwell
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
This was an incredible book. Orwell wrote this story as a vision of the future and it is a frightening thrill that makes you think about the state of the world today. This was very intelligently written. You witness the rise and fall of an individuals mind. The end is quite depressing but written to perfection.

Artemis Fowl:The Time ParadoxAuthor: Eoin Colfer
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
With the help of his fairy friends, Artemis must travel back in time after his mother contracts a rare disease that can only be cured by the brain fluid of the silky sifaka lemur, and while in the past, he encounters his younger self. A great book! I cant believe people like Harry Potter and not Artemis Fowl!A really exciting novel, you may think the beginning is boring, but continue to read it and you will simply fall in love with this book. So, give it some time! This is book number 6.

Contagious10/10 - 1 review

 ContagiousAuthor: Scott Sigler
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
Disturbingly realistic. Suspence and pure curiosity force to turn the pages faster than you can actually read.

Fire Study10/10 - 1 review

 Fire StudyAuthor: Maria. V Snyder
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
The apprenticeship is over— now the real test has begun.

When word that Yelena is a Soulfinder—able to capture and release souls—spreads like wildfire, people grow uneasy. Already Yelena's unusual abilities and past have set her apart. As the Council debates Yelena's fate, she receives a disturbing message: a plot is rising against her homeland, led by a murderous sorcerer she has defeated before.…

Honor sets Yelena on a path that will test the limits of her skills, and the hope of reuniting with her beloved spurs her onward. Her journey is fraught with allies, enemies, lovers and would-be assassins, each of questionable loyalty. Yelena will have but one chance to prove herself—and save the land she holds dear.

The last book in the series hits its mark. Though the ending leaves you wanting to see what to happens Yelena and Valek, what happens to the commander and everyone else that you have come to care about. After this series I will forever be a fan of Mrs. Snyder.

Generation Dead10/10 - 1 review

 Generation DeadAuthor: Daniel Waters
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
I first saw this book as I was walking through my local Wal-Mart store to get groceries. Little did I know that I has stumbled upon a young adult masterpiece. Generation Dead goes through all the challenges that teenagers go through with a twist. Yes, the book is about zombies, but Waters gives the zombies a personality and an appearance that reflects that personality. You go through the constant teasing of the jocks and the heartbreak and tragedy of a first love while throwing in the budding love triangle. All this and I never felt bombarded with too much information or over the top views of "differently biotic" persons. I definitely give Daniel Waters five out of five stars and a hearty two thumbs up.

kiki strike:inside the shadow cityAuthor: kristen miller
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
This is a hilarious book! It is about a girl named kiki strike. She is weird and has white hair, she can only eat gruel and vitamins. Can only drink cafe au lait. The story is told by a girl named Ananka Fishbein(an expert on giant sguid, and has a giant library at home!). She is in a group called the Irregular. Everyone is a genius of something in the Irregulars, all except Ananka. A GREAT adventure story! Be Prepared to be amazed! ( I know I wrote Science Fiction and Fantasy, but its really Adventure.)

Magic Study10/10 - 1 review

 Magic StudyAuthor: Maria V. Snyder
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
Yelena is a survivor. Kidnapped as a child, held prisoner as a teen, then released to act as a poison taster, she is now a student of magic. But these magic skills place her in imminent danger, and with an execution order on her head, she has no choice but to escape to Sitia, the land of her birth.

But nothing in Sitia is familiar. As she struggles to understand where she belongs and how to control her powers, a rogue magician emerges—and Yelena catches his eye. Suddenly she is embroiled in a situation not of her making. And once again her magical abilities will either save her life...or be her downfall.

This book continues the story of Yelena, a smart and strong woman magician. The story starts off slow, but picks up! Valek returna in the second story to help, guide and love Yelena. I found they were a perfect match for one another.

Once again a great read by Maria V. Snyder. I strongly recommend this book

Meg10/10 - 1 review

 MegAuthor: Steve Alten
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
Meg written by Steve Alten
Review By Martin Gwynne

Meg is short for Megaldon Shark, a prehistoric ancestor of a great white shark that is over 60ft in length..

Steve Alten gives the world a whole new reason to be afraid to get into the water and his Meg makes Benchley's shark look like a goldfish. This novel has nonstop thrills and alot of chills.

One critic had one brilliant description of this novel that sums it up: Jurassic Shark!"

Watch out for Steve Alten, he is only getting started!

Poison Study10/10 - 1 review

 Poison StudyAuthor: Maria V. Snyder
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
About to be executed for murder, Yelena is offered an extraordinary reprieve. She'll eat the best meals, have rooms in the palace- and risk assassination by anyone trying to kill the Commander of Ixia.

And so Yelena chooses to become a food taster. But the chief of security, leaving nothing to chance, deliberately feeds her Butterfly's Dusté and only by appearing for her daily antidote will she delay an agonizing death from the poison.

As Yelena tries to escape her new dilemma, disasters keep mounting. Rebels plot to seize Ixia and Yelena develops magical powers she can't control. Her life is threatened again and choices must be made. But this time the outcomes aren't so clear—.

Maria V. Snyder starts her career with a lot of promise. This book will suck you in and take you on the adventure of a life time. As the first book in the series it's only the beginning and only gets better from there.

This story contains strong characters, adventure, love, mystery and a whole lot more. I strongly recommend this book
